The magic behind the curtain

Built in the 1980s

Refurbished and flown in all the way from the United States, this vintage classic is an analogue photochemical booth that operates on a manual camera system with a fixed focal length. Each photo taken is exposed directly onto a film strip, frame by frame.

Dip & dunk processing

Photos taken with the booth go through a process called dip & dunk. The 4 minute long development takes the film strip though a series of chemical washes right inside the machine like a mini darkroom! The mechanical arms guide your film strip through this process as you wait.

Surprise! No previews

Pop-art icon Andy Warhol once said, “The idea of waiting for something makes it more exciting”. There is no preview, you just have to wait for your developed film to appear at the collection slot. The beauty of candid photography paired with the nostalgic feel of a grainy piece of film strip will leave you wanting more!
